Through a show of hands, who really believes the following statement - '"for the month of May, 39% of visitors to Facebook.com were over the age of 35." That's what a new research study) is claiming. Personally, I think it's ridiculous for anyone to believe that 39% of Facebook's audience is actually over the age of 35. Maybe I'm wrong.
In addition, AdWeek published an interesting story on the market share situation between MySpace and Facebook. According to the article, "Despite the sharp growth, Facebook is still much smaller than social network heavyweight MySpace, which attracted 68.9 million U.S. visitors in May, per comScore (Facebook attracted 26.6 million visitors). Its growth is continuing, albeit at a much slower rate (monthly unique visitors are up 12 percent this year) than the smaller Facebook. MySpace users spent an average of 196 minutes on the site in May, down from 228 in January, comScore reported."
The race for eyeballs is on... MySpace, watch your back.
